AmeriCorps Scholarship Program

AmeriCorps Scholarship Program

About AmeriCorps

AmeriCorps is a service scholarship opportunity available to all students in the final and licensure year of the education programs offered at the University of Utah.  This includes all students in the Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education programs.

As students in their final year in the education programs are completing their student teaching requirement, the AmeriCorps Scholarship is a way to reimburse them for their time and effort.  Students are not getting paid for the any working and service hours they contribute to their school and the community, which often adds up to over 4o hours per week.  The AmeriCorps award is a thank-you for their time, energy, resources, and service they have provided.

As all licensure students are eligible to participate in the AmeriCorps Program, an AmeriCorps coordinator will be visiting your Action Research/Seminar and Field Practicum classes.

For questions regarding AmeriCorps, you may contact our AmeriCorps coordinators, Matt Schulz and Jill Hinckley, at uite@utah.edu or 801-581-7158.
